Content Management Solutions Deployment
Microsoft Infrastructure Optimization is a suite of services that revolves around assisting customers optimize the use of their Microsoft software investments through the implementation of Microsoft Core Infrastructure (Core IO) and Business Productivity Infrastructure Optimization (BPIO) framework.

Most organizations recognize the importance of an optimized and cost-efficient IT infrastructure and have tried to rationalize their infrastructure and increase their operational efficiency through the following initiatives: data center consolidation, desktop standardization, implementing IT operational best practices, etc. Such initiatives undertaken by IT departments in isolation are not sufficient on their own to deliver the desired and long lasting improvements demanded by the business. In order to achieve a sustained improvement in their IT infrastructure, organizations must take a longer term strategic view of IT infrastructure maturity and link these capability and maturity improvements to their business needs and overall business strategy.

First Datacorp can provide the Microsoft-based technologies, processes, and procedures to help customers move through the infrastructure optimization journey. Processes move from fragmented or nonexistent to optimized and repeatable. A customer's ability to use technology to improve their business agility and deliver business value increases as they move from the Basic state up the continuum toward a Dynamic state, empowering information workers, managers, and supporting new business opportunities.

First DataCorp Microsoft Infrastructure Optimization service covers the following:

IO Strategy Consulting

IO Strategy Consulting is an engagement that focuses in the process of “discovery” where the optimization state of the organization’s infrastructure is “profiled” using a series of infrastructure optimization model questions. The results of the profiling then lead to identification and prioritization of the relevant growth opportunities for that infrastructure, where a “strategy plan” showing a two- to three- to perhaps five-year roadmap is developed to support the organization’s business goals and growth plans as known to date. Depending on the result of assessment, the strategy plan may also include the following services:

  • Microsoft Solutions Framework
  • Pilot Planning and Facilitation
  • Change Impact Reporting
  • Specific Microsoft Technology training
  • Help Desk Support Planning
  • Rapid Deployment Program Coordination
  • Project Management and Quality Assurance

Deployment Services

Deployment Services provide organization with an invaluable outline for the deployment of all the identified Infrastructure Optimization (both for Core IO and BPIO) solution projects, addressing key areas such as hardware, software and staffing requirements. Central to the service are the interactive design sessions conducted by FDC consultants. This involves the two fold process of gathering information for the specific needs of your IT environment and educating the organization’s IT personnel on critical architecture decisions.
The typical deployment Infrastructure Optimization solution project incorporates five stages that guide you through the core design choices:

  • Requirements: The service begins by reviewing business requirements and the vision and scope of the project. Key project criteria are considered in line with business objectives.
  • Assessment: Profile information is gathered on the existing environment to identify potential issues and dependencies, ensuring that business requirements are accurately understood and addressed.
  • Design: working to Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF) guidelines, our consultants will use the information gathered in the earlier phases of planning to develop a first pass design in collaboration with your team.
  • Interoperability: Our consultants will address existing legacy systems to ensure that all components involved in the deployment operate efficiently and effectively together.
  • Deliverable: The final document details all the information gathered and decisions made during the design phase, summarizing the steps needed for successful deployment. This also highlights areas unique to your environment which require further follow-up.
