First Datacorp Goes Green! A Tree Planting Event...
 
First Datacorp associates went all the way to the highlands of Indang, Cavite last May 23, 2009, to plant Kaong Palms as part of the project “Green for Life: One Million Trees and Beyond”, a reforestation and environmental initiative.
Close to 200 kaong seedlings were planted by First Datacorp on that day. A vanishing species, the planting and nurturing of kaong restores the ecological balance in the area and supports the fauna system as well.
The activity is the second tree planting for the year. The first one was held last March 2009, at the Calatagan Mangroves in Batangas where about 500 rhizopora propagules were planted. The kaong planting in Indang, Cavite not only provided an environmental response to the deforestation but also a livelihood component for the local community.
These planting activities are part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Programs of First Datacorp.
